Details Of Disappearance

61 Year Old Barbara Vanwinkle was last seen at an Exxon Gas Station in Rehoboth Beach at 11 pm on May 15th 1994. Barbara had a bruise on her face. An attendant helped Barbara pump gas and he asked her about the bruise. She stated she had a fight with her boyfriend. (Jim Hensley) On June 9th 1994, Barbara's Green 1993 Ford Crown Victoria was found in the parking lot of Rose's Department Store at the Mid Sussex Shopping Center on Route 113.  The car was unlocked and the keys were on the floor on the driver's side. Barbara's Close Friend reported her missing. Not her live in Boyfriend. Law Enforcement were suspicious of this fact. Barbara's home (which she shared with Hensley) was searched and blood stains were found in 2 bedrooms. A spent shell was found with traces of Barbara's blood on it. Her case was then labeled a homicide and Law Enforcement named Barbara's boyfriend a Person of Interest/Suspect. Hensley told authorities he and Barbara had a fight the night she was last seen. 2 months after Barbara's disappearance Jim Hensley committed suicide. Barbara's remains have never been recovered. Her case remains unsolved.
